At 1:40 a.m. March 19, TFC P. Trossbach pulled behind a stopped vehicle on Route 5 at Route 235 in Ridge.
Investigation revealed the driver had run out of fuel. During conversation with the driver, 17, of Great Mills, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from his breath.
Because he was not observed driving, his parents were called to the scene to pick him up. While waiting for the parents to arrive, a vehicle pulled onto the shoulder.
During conversation with that driver, Daniel Bryan Vogeley, 18, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emitting for his breath. Vogeley was placed under arrest for DUI.
When Vogeley was being placed under arrest, the 17-year-old became very disorderly. When ordered to calm down the juvenile refused. As TFC Trossbach attempted to place him under arrest, he resisted.
While resisting he struck TFC Trossbach in the head. The juvenile was subdued.
He was charged with Assault on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting arrest. He was released to a parent pending disposition by Juvenile Justice Authorities.
