An investigation conducted by Deputy State Fire Marshals has resultedย in a Calvert County woman being charged with 1st-degree arson.
Investigators charged Mary Sue Raeke, 43 of Lusby, with first-degree arson. The charges stem from an intentional fire being set at the homeย that she and her boyfriend shared. The fire, on Oct. 10, at 1218 Golden West Way, caused an estimated $150,000 damage to the two-story home. Deputy Fire Marshals determined that a fire was set in a basement bedroom.
Investigators contend a domestic incident between Raeke and her boyfriend precipitated the incident. There were no reported injuries.
Raeke currently is being held at the Calvert County Detention Center on arson and other unrelated charges.
If convicted she is facing up to 30-years in jail and a fine not exceeding $50,000 or both.
