During the month of October 2010, police units responded to several residential burglaries in the Hollywood area of St. Mary’s County. Handguns, U.S. currency, a safe and other personal items were stolen from the residences. The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations assumed the investigation and developed suspects in the case.
Further investigation lead to the execution of several search and seizure warrants at various locations in the Hollywood and Leonardtown area. Several of the handguns and personal property belonging to the victims were recovered.
Kyle R. Sargent, age 18, David A. Johnson, Jr., age 19, a 15 year old male juvenile and a 16 year old male juvenile all of Hollywood, Md., were arrested.
The four suspects were charged with First Degree Burglary, Theft over $1,000 and Theft over $10,000. Sargent and Johnson, Jr. were incarcerated in the detention center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
The two juveniles were transported Cheltenham Youth facility pending further action by juvenile authorities.
