At 6:09 a.m. Dec. 28, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office’s Community Policing (COPS) Unit, Emergency Services Team and patrol officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2500 block of Robinson Place in Waldorf.
Officers recovered $3,000 worth of cocaine, $450 worth of Ecstasy pills, $20 worth of marijuana, scales, packaging supplies, cell phones and a loaded handgun.
China Richardson, 27, and William Anthony Smothers, 24, who reside there, were arrested at the scene. They were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and manufacturing equipment and were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
The search warrant and subsequent arrests were part of an on-going investigation by COPs Officer C. Caldwell.
