Back for its 34th year, the annual Celtic Festival and Highland Gathering will take place at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum on Saturday, April 28, 2012. The event will run from 10am-6pm with an evening concert and celebration beginning at 6pm.
The event features concerts and dancing performances with three music stages ranging from traditional to contemporary Celtic sounds. Piping, drumming and fiddling are just a few of the sounds to enjoy! Meet members of various Celtic Clans, learn about tartans and genealogy, enjoy storytellers, have your face painted, and shop for Celtic goods and treats.
Sporting events include rugby, Caber toss, stone put, hammer throw and more. Fencing demonstrations, crafters and an afternoon living history battle are also available. Tickets are $20 at the gate and $15 with advanced online purchase. Children 12 and under are free. Military and 65+ discount tickets are $15.
