At 7:45 a.m. Aug. 18, members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police responded to a home on Rodeo Road in Lusby for a rape.
The victim, a 46-year-old female, stated that she had been sexually assaulted by a suspect who forcibly entered her residence. The victim stated that the suspect fled in a stolen vehicle.
The suspect was observed traveling northbound on Md. Rt. 4 by Cpl. Richard Wilson and was subsequently stopped in Port Republic.
The suspect was identified as Jerry Edward Goldring, 42 of Lusby. Goldring was placed under arrest and later charged with first degree rape, first degree assault, first degree burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
