On October 12th at 7:29 PM, on Rt. 4 in Dunkirk, TFC Bevard stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
Upon contact with the operator, Ernest Jerome Butler, 53, of Mechanicsville, TFC Bevard detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was found in the vehicle and on Mr. Butler’s person.
Butler was placed under arrest at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was incarcerated in the Calvert County Detention Center to await a commissioner’s hearing.
