Update 10:45 pm. AT&T are actively working to resolve the issue and representatives from emergency communications centers are reporting some systems are now performing correctly.
March 8, 8:55 pm. — AT&T is experiencing a wide spread problem that is impacting their service. The Charles County 9-1-1 Center tested a cell phone on the AT&T network. It could not complete a call to 9-1-1 but could complete a call to a 10-digit number. Residents that use AT&T as their cellular service provider should call 301-609-3499 if they have trouble reaching 9-1-1.
Other areas are also affected and will use alternate emergency phone numbers in the case of an emergency.
