Huntingtown, MD – A motor vehicle fire that occurred Easter Sunday morning in Calvert County is under investigation by state authorities. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze occurred March 27 on Neptune Lane in Huntingtown and was reported at 9:15 a.m.
The vehicle was described as a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. Investigators identified the owner as Russell Washington Jr.
“The abandoned vehicle was discovered by a neighbor,” a fire marshal’s report stated. No firefighters responded to the scene.
Damage is estimated at $8,000. It was determined by investigators that the fire originated in the vehicle’s interior and was intentionally set. No arrests have been made.
