At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, emergency units from Bay District and Lexington Park responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Great Mills Road. When units arrived they discovered a passenger car and a pick-up truck had collided with an entrapped victim in the car.

Emergency workers cut the roof off the car and extracted the victim. After being checked at the scene, the injured victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time. Preliminary investigation revealed that the car was traveling westbound on Great Mills Road and attempted to turn into St. Mary’s Square shopping center and was struck by the pick-up truck traveling east.
