Hughesville, MD – Over two dozen firefighters responded to a house fire on Patuxent Woods Lane in Hughesville at about 4:03 p.m. May 19.
Upon arrival the respondents from Benedict, Baden, Hughesville, La Plata, Mechanicsville, Prince Frederick and Waldorf Volunteer Fire Departments controlled the fire in about ten minutes.
The fire reportedly was caused by electrical wiring beneath the residence and is ruled to be accidental.
The home received moderate damage estimated at about $5,000. There were no reported injuries and the family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
