Tornado Watch in effect from August 18, 11:30 AM EDT until August 18, 08:00 PM EDT

BALTIMORE, Md. – The National Weather Service has issued tornado watch 447 in effect until 8:00 p.m., this evening for the following areas:

  • Anne Arundel       
  • Baltimore
  • Calvert             
  • Carroll            
  • Cecil
  • Charles             
  • Frederick          
  • Garrett
  • Harford             
  • Howard             
  • Kent
  • Montgomery          
  • Prince Georges     
  • Queen Anne`s
  • St. Mary’s           
  • Washington

As Tropical Depression Fred passes off to the west, there will be a threat for isolated tornadoes, damaging winds, as well as flash flooding.  The risk for severe thunderstorms may come as early as the mid-morning.  Otherwise, conditions should improve by late this evening.
