ST. LEONARD, Md. – At approximately 1:55 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the serious single motor vehicle accident on Rt. 4 in the area of David Gray Road in St. Leonard.
Crews arrived on the scene and found the single vehicle overturned with one trapped. Firefighters quickly started the extraction of the patient. MEDEVAC was requested and will transport the patient to a shock trauma center.
Northbound Rt. 4 at David Gray Road has one lane closed.
The second call went out at approximately 2:00 p.m., and police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the 2400 block of Emmanuel Church Road in the area of Emmanuel Court in Huntingtown for the single motor vehicle accident.
Emmanuel Church Road is shutdown in the area of the crash.
Crews arrived to find the single vehicle that struck a utility pole and overturned. The single occupant was out of the vehicle. Both a utility pole and electric lines are down.
The single patient was transported to a local trauma center by an ambulance.
SMECO is responding to the scene for repairs. Road will be shutdown for about 3 hours.
Avoid area if possible utilize alternate routes if traveling in area. Use caution in the area, and stay alert for emergency vehicles.
