UPDATE
On Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 10:05 p.m. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office reported that northbound Route 2/4 near St. Leonard Road was reopened to traffic. One person has been flown to a Washington, DC area trauma center as a result of the motor vehicle crash, which occurred around 9 p.m. that evening.
Police are investigating the crash and no further information is available at this time.
St. Leonard, MD – Calvertย County fire officials confirmย responders have been dispatched to northbound Route 2/4 and St. Leonard Road for a two-vehicle crash. At least two injuries are reported and a helicopter has been requested. Motorists should avoid the area since the helicopter will be landing in or near the roadway.ย
The crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m.
There are unconfirmed reports that an animal, most likely a deer, wandered into the roadway causing the crash.
The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department is reporting one injured motorist is being flown to a trauma center.
