California, MD— After 23 years serving Southern Maryland in the San Souci Plaza in California Rick’s Jewelers is making the big move, however, you won’t have to go far to find their new location.
Rick Norris is the store owner along with his wife, Pauline. The Norrises have gathered up all their jewelry and elegant gifts to move just down the block to 22595 Three Notch Road in California.
When asked why the move now, Rick Norris states, “It is time to advance on to a new location. We have been in the same spot for 23 years, I hope to pick up some new business also throughout this move.”
Along with the new location, Rick also has plans to showcase some of their new products that they have seen at the Independent Jewelers Organization gatherings.
“We have new lines coming along, for an example, we have a new opal line, new bridal lines, new wedding lines, and a new watch line that will be showcased at this new location,” said Norris.
Norris is really looking forward to his older customers coming to the new location, however, he is also looking forward to attracting new clients and starting traditions.
Norris stated that what makes his jewelry store different than some others are aspects such as customer service. “We really strive on customer service, we also praise ourselves on our custom work that we provide customers.”
At Rick’s Jewelers they do their custom work from scratch. Norris stated that over his 40 years in the business he has obtained so many skills such as wax-work, and cad work.
“We have met some really nice people, clients, I think the thing that we are really going to miss are the neighboring stores that were around us at our old store. Being able to go to the post office or get some food right next door was really nice to have,” said Norris.
Norris is mindful of the humble beginnings when they first started back in 1993, keeping in mind his slogan, “large enough to serve, but small enough to care.”
