Prince Frederick, MD – A Calvert County man has been indicted on a single count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (CDS). The drug the defendantโidentified in court documents as Eric Scott Woomer, 31 of Chesapeake Beachโis accused of distributing is heroin.
Woomerโs accomplice in the alleged heroin distribution is identified in police reports and court documents as Holly Elizabeth Parks, 25, also of Chesapeake Beach.
The grand jury indictment against Woomer was handed down Monday, April 18. The single count is a misdemeanor.
The Calvert County Sheriffโs Office reported that on Feb. 13 Deputy C. Ward conducted a traffic stop on Donalds Way in Owings. Ward had observed the vehicle Woomer and Parks were traveling in make an illegal turn. Ward observed Woomer and Parks to be in possession of CDS, heroin.
Parks, who was identified as the driver of the vehicle in court documents, was charged with CDS possession with intent to distributeโa felony, CDS possession not marijuana, driver failure to obey a properly placed traffic control device and unsafe lane changing.ย Parks, who is being represented by Robert H. Harvey Jr., has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for June 6.
Court documents indicated Woomer and Parks have pre-trial hearings in circuit court tentatively scheduled for June, plea hearings in early July and criminal jury trials tentatively planned for early August.
