Lexington Park, MD – Authorities in St. Mary’s County reported at 4:30 p.m. that an ambulance that had been dispatched to the scene of an emergency avoided a collision with another vehicle, instead ending up on the side of the road. The near-hit occurred on Three Notch Road in the area of Turkey Neck Road. According to police at the scene, the ambulance driver swerved to avoid the collision with a vehicle, after the driver failed to yield the right-of-way. There are no indications that anyone was injured. An official report on the incident is pending.
