The American Chestnut Land Truse offers guided canoe and kayak trips through mid-October.
Depart from Warrior’s Rest and enjoy a scenic tour of Parkers Creek. Reservations are required. Please call us at (410) 414-3400 or e-mail info@acltweb.org for more information. Canoe trips are physically strenuous, requiring paddling for three hours — frequently against wind and tides — and may require participants to help carry a canoe for up to one-quarter mile over sand to access the creek.
Below is a list of available dates:
Saturday, August 16 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, September 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, September 13 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, October 11 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
There is one last Kayak trip scheduled for this season. On Saturday, October 4, the ACLT, along with the Calvert County Natural Resources Division, will host a 7.5 mile kayak paddle from Parkers Creek to Flags Pond along the scenic Calvert Cliffs shoreline. Interested individuals should register through the Battle Creek Nature Center at (410) 535-5327.
