On April 29, the United State Marshal’s Service located and arrested fugitive Kevin Edward Barnes, 39, in Winchester, Va.
Barnes had been wanted by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office since October 2007 for assaulting officers during a police pursuit, child support violations and failing to appear in court for a second-degree assault charge.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and the Marshal’s Service and began after the Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip through Charles County Crime Solvers.
Barnes has been returned to Charles County has was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending a court appearance.
