As the club let out after an event, witnesses told officers that a fight broke out in a nearby parking lot and that a man was pointing a gun toward a semi-trailer which was parked on the lot. Officers observed the suspect running from the scene with what appeared to be a gun in his hand. While in pursuit of the subject, he attempted to hide behind the semi-trailer. After several verbal commands, the subject came from behind the trailer empty handed. Officers detained the subject and then went back to inspect the area in which he was hiding.
A loaded, automatic gun was recovered and the suspect, Franklin Brown-Talante, 22 of Lanham, was arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon.
He was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. Officer C. Baker made the arrest.
