California,MD— On Friday, Dec. 4 at approximatelyย 5 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack responded to the Super 8 Motel in California for a reported armed robbery.

The victim told police that he had been walking in the Walmart parking lot towards the Super 8 Motel, when a black male ran at him and struck him in the back of the head with an unknown object, knocking him to the ground.

According to court documents, “As he got to a cement island in he heard people inside the vehicle, he heard someone say ‘what’s up now m-[expletive]’ and ‘I got you now m-[expletive]’.”ย 

The victim said while he was on the ground the suspect reached in his pocket and stole $300. The suspect then lifted his shirt to show him he had a gun in his waistband.

“He (witness) observedย the black male (Warrick) punch a white male (victim) at least one time,” court documents stated.ย 

The victim was able to provide police with a name of the suspect and a description of a vehicle used in the robbery.

That case remains open pending further investigation.

Warrick does not have a court date at this time. Warrick faces 92 years and two months and/or a maximum fine of $18,000.ย
