Odenton, MD — Anne Arundel County Police have arrested a 24-year-old Severn man after an Odenton woman was sexually assaulted by an intruder in her home last week.
Around 5:41 a.m. on Tuesday, the Anne Arundel County Police Department was called to Apple Blossom Lane in Odenton for a burglary/sexual assault.
The female victim woke up to find a man assaulting her. She screamed for help and he left through a window.
Patrol officers and K-9 units searched the area but didn’t locate the suspect.The Sex Offense Unit along with the Evidence Collection Unit responded and processed the scene. Several detectives did a door to door canvass and interviewed several witnesses.
Using evidence collected at the scene by the Anne Arundel County Latent Print Unit and information from the victim and witnesses, police identified Zaon Emmanuel Cox as a person of interest.
Cox was arrested and charged with rape and burglary.
