As a result of the Sheriff’s Office investigation, a Charles County Grand Jury recently returned a six-count indictment charging Matthew Derek Correll, 29 of King George, Va., with First-Degree Murder, Attempted Robbery and other charges.

On Oct. 22, Charles County Sheriff’s detectives and members of the King George Sheriff’s Office arrested Correll at his home. He was extradited to Maryland on October 27 and remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with no bond. The investigation is still active and ongoing.
