Winners of the GFWC Womenโs Club of St. Maryโs County Youth Art Contest were recognized at the June 25 regular school board meeting.
โThe GFWC Womenโs Club of St. Maryโs County Arts Community Service Program is designed to enable its members to create and contribute to art education and activities in their community, as participation in the arts helps raise public consciousness and connect members and clubs with their communities,โ according to information provided during the recognition ceremony.
According to Supervisor of Fine Arts Laurel Dietz, โArt plays an important part in the lives of GFWC members, as art helps to instill confidence, provides opportunities, and broadens club womenโs horizons.
