Lexington Park, MD- The murder trial for a Lexington Park man is set to begin June 26.

Patrick Bush, 52, is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first degree assault, second-degree Assault and Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle.

Bush was arrested in July 2016 after Cecilia Stubbs, 50, of Lexington Park, was found in her front yard with multiple stab wounds. She later died from her injuries.

Investigators say Bush attacked Stubbs and then fled the scene in her 2013 Nissan Altima. He was located by the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office later that same day and fled police. Bush was eventually taken into custody along Route 231 in Charles County.

This isnโ€™t the first time Bush has faced serious charges in court. In 2002, he was found guilty on First Degree assault and sentenced to 12 years in prison.


9:40 p.m. ย –ย The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has announced the following charges for Patrick Henry Bush, 51 of Lexington Park: First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle.


Responders work desperately to try to save the life of Cecilia Darlene Stubbs after she was attacked. She later died at a hospital.

UPDATE – 2:40 p.m.

Lexington Park, MD – On July 5, St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office Patrol deputies responded to the 21000 block of Windsor Drive in Lexington Park for the report of a serious assault. Upon arrival, they found the victim in her yard suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim, Cecilia Darlene Stubbs, ย 50 of Lexington Park, was transported to a medical facility where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Information was developed identifying Patrick Henry Bush, 51 of Lexington Park, as the suspect.ย  It was learned Bush fled the scene in the victimโ€™s 2013 Nissan Altima.ย  A lookout was broadcast for the victimโ€™s vehicle which was later located by the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office, who, after a vehicle pursuit, apprehended the suspect on Maryland Route 231 in Charles County.

The investigation is ongoing and additional information regarding charges, and a photograph of the suspect will be released once filed.

Lexington Park, MD – A spokeswoman for the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the victim of this morning’s assault on Windsor Drive in Lexington Park has died from injuries sustained in the incident.

Investigators will have additional details regarding the incident later this afternoon.

EMS units responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Lexington Park, MD – Shortly after 6 a.m. police in St. Mary’s County were dispatched to a reported assault involving a vehicle. The incident occurred on Windsor Drive in Lexington Park.ย 

According to witnesses, a resident ย sustained serious injuries when an unidentified suspect reportedly stole her vehicle, struck her with the vehicle and drove away. The suspect is still at large.
