Port Tobacco, MD – On June 28 at 4:30 p.m., The Society for the Restoration of Port Tobacco held the event A Taste of Maryland. This event sets out to educate Marylander throughout the state about its rich cuisine history. The individual responsible for educating locals is Joyce White, food historian and food history blogger.
According to White ” preserving the awareness and reviving some of these traditions of Maryland is important for the history of the state.” White accomplishes this with a interactive presentation geared toward breaking down what makes Maryland so unique.
Jennifer Pitts a member of the board of The Society for the Restoration of Port Tobacco was in attendance. Pitts and the board are hoping that events like A Taste of Maryland with bring more attention to Port Tobacco.
According to Pitts ” Port Tobacco is community driven, this historic site is just not for the member of the society, but also for the residents of Charles County.” ย
