Drug Arrest – On Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:16am, TFC E. J. Page initiated a traffic stop on a Pontiac Sedan on

in Mechanicsville for a traffic violation. Trooper Tchi-Ngambu, who was assisting TFC Page made contact with the operator of the vehicle. While doing so, the Trooper detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The operator, identified as Joseph Leroy James Perry, 19, of Avenue was asked to exit the vehicle for a probable cause search. Information provided by the subject revealed CDS on his person. Mr. Perry was subsequently arrested for Possession of CDS and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
