At 4:21 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 volunteer fire departments and emergency personnel responded to the area of Holly Point Road as a barge floated towards the shore.

Responders arrived on the scene and found a large crane barge floating close to shore, breaking its anchor lines in the rough stormy waters. An engine was requested and arrived with five volunteers from Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.
After speaking to the St. Inigoes Coast Guard station, the responders were advised that they wouldn’t be taking any further actions as long as the barge still had an anchor line. Ridge volunteers returned to quarters in just under an hour.
