Looking for a fun way to spend a beautiful September Sunday? Try the Artsfest at Annmarie Garden in Dowell, just north of Solomons Island.

This year’s festival offers art, food, and entertainment amidst the beauty of Annmarie Garden. On Saturday many visitors were already stocking up on art and jewellery as unique holiday gifts, while others enjoyed the sunshine with fresh kettle corn or gyros.

Artsfest is open from 10 am to 5pm today, with $5 admission for adults and free to children or members. If you go, wear comfortable shoes to walk from the busy parking area and to ensure a pleasant meander through the numerous exhibits and stalls, and through the wooded pathways. You may wish to take cash as there is no ATM, and while several of the art stalls accepted credit cards, for food and beverages you’ll need good old-fashioned dollars. Print off a coupon at Annmarie Garden’s website for $1 off admission, and leave you dogs at home as they’re not permitted during special events.

Annmarie Garden is located off Rt. 4. Turn onto Dowell Road at Solomons firehouse, and you will find the Garden approximately 1/4 mile on your left.
