On May 17, the Best Buy store in California made a generous donation of $2,000 to the St. Mary’s County Crime Solvers. Crime Solvers is partnered with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and provides reward money to citizens who supply tip information on persons who have committed crimes within St. Mary’s County.
If the citizen’s tip leads to an arrest of a criminal, the citizen may be rewarded up to $1,000 for providing the information. Criminal investigations in St. Mary’s County have been closed with arrests as a result of tips provided by concerned citizens through the St. Mary’s Crime Solvers line.
Reward money is raised through donations from citizens and businesses such as Best Buy. Employees from Best Buy have volunteered their time to help the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office with safety programs such as: child fingerprinting, traffic safety etc.
