Capitol Heights, MD – A Baptist bishop is facing assault and sex offense charges in Prince Georgeโ€™s County, according to Washington, DC media reports.

Bishop Michael C. Turner Sr. (pictured, right), the senior pastor of The Miracle Center of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Capitol Heights was identified by a 22-year-old woman as the man who reportedly stalked and harassed her and subsequently assaulted her several times in various church office locations. According to news reports, the woman told Turner to stop his lewd actions and leave her alone. The actions allegedly went on for several weeks before being reported to authorities.

The report of the allegations and charges was broadcast by WRC=TV 4.

According to court documents, Turner, 61 of Glenn Dale, was arrested Tuesday, April 26, 12 days after a warrant was issued by District Court. Turner is charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree sex offense and harassment. He was later released on $10,000 bond.

A hearing on the charges is tentatively scheduled for June 24 at District Court in Upper Marlboro.
