Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division, continue to request the public’s help in identifying a witness who provided a 7-Eleven employee information after the business was robbed at 4:04 AM, on June 13th.
Update June 16
Mechanicsville, Maryland – On June 13th, a witness provided information to a 7-Eleven store employee after the business was robbed at 4:04 AM. The witness left the store prior to deputies arriving on the scene and he did not provide contact information.
The witness was a white male, with short brown hair, possibly in his 20’s, wearing a white t-shirt and black ball cap with an unknown logo on the front.ย ย
The witness was unable to make a purchase because the robbery had just occurred.

Update June 15
On June 14, 2015, at approximately 9:00 PM, suspect Todd O’Neil May, age 44, of Brandywine, turned himself in at Sheriff’s Office Headquarters after seeing himself on the internet and learning a warrant had been issued for his arrest in connection with the Burchmart, Dollar General, and 7-Eleven armed robberies.
May was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was served an arrest warrant charging him with:
3 COUNTS – Armed Robbery
3 COUNTS – Robbery
3 COUNTS – 1st Degree Assault
3 COUNTS – 2nd Degree Assault
3 COUNTS – Theft Under $1,000
May remains incarcerated on NO BOND.

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Detectives from the St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Officeโs Criminal Investigations Division have identified Todd OโNeil May, 44 of Brandywine, as the suspect responsible for three recent armed robberies which occurred at the Burchmart, Dollar General and 7-Eleven stores in Mechanicsville. A warrant has been issued for Mayโs arrest and detectives are actively attempting to locate him.
On June 14 patrol deputies and members of the Sheriffโs Office K9 Unit located a suspicious Dodge Ram pickup truck parked near a business in Lexington Park. Detectives determined the truck belonged to May. A search and seizure warrant was executed on the truck resulting and evidence was recovered.

Detectives are also urgently requesting a witness who provided information to employees immediately following the armed robbery at the 7-Eleven call the Sheriff’s Office Duty Officer at 301-475-4040 or Detective Cory Ellis at 301-475-4200, ext. 9125. The witness is described as a white male in his 20s, wearing a black baseball cap and white T-shirt.
UPDATE FROM THE ST. MARY’S COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Mechanicsville, Maryland – On June 13, 2015, at 4:04 AM, a white male suspect entered the 7-11 located in the median on Three Notch Road, armed with a knife. The suspect encountered the clerk and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and the suspect fled out of the store.
The suspect was seen entering a silver, possibly Dodge Ram truck.
The suspect was described at being approximately 5’10” to 6’00” in height, with a heavy set build, and walking with a limp. He was wearing blue jeans, a black long sleeved shirt, a blue bandanna covering the crown of his head, and a red bandanna covering the lower portion of his face. **The photos below are from the robbery.
Deputies responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search of the area for the suspect with negative results. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing at the time of the publishing of this press release.

MECHANICSVILLE, MD – A spokeswoman for the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office confirms an armed robbery occurred early Saturday morning, June 13 at a convenience store in Mechanicsville.
According to Sgt. Cara Grumbles, the incident occurred at the 7-Eleven on Route 5 around 4 a.m. The suspect remains at large.
Grumbles said it is not known at this time whether the latest incident is related to two other armed robberies that occurred June 10 and 11 in the county.
The incident remains under investigation.
