Update from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office:

Great Mills, Maryland – On April 22, 2015, at 5:19 PM, deputies, fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to Boothe Farm Lane located off of Flat Iron Road, for a serious motor vehicle crash. Deputies located a single vehicle that had crashed into a tree. The driver and sole occupant of the 2000 Chrysler Cirrus, identified as Ashley Lauren Taylor, age 25, of California, Maryland, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit members responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation indicated Taylor was traveling westbound on Boothe Farm Lane when she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree. At this time, speed is believed to be a contributing factor. Great Mills, MD – Around 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 a serious motor vehicle crash occurred at Flat Iron Road and Boothe Farm Lane in Great Mills. A vehicle is reportedly overturned and there are reports at least one person is dead.ย 

Several crews have been dispatched and are currently at the scene.

At 6:25 p.m. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office advised that traffic flow is normal on Flat Iron Road. Deputies will be on scene of the crash on Boothe Farm Lane for an extended period of time conducting crash investigation. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling in the area.
