The Board of Commissioners for St. Mary’s County is pleased to announce that Brenda Burch has been appointed by the State Board of Elections as the Director of Elections for St. Mary’s County.
Burch has been Acting Director since the retirement of Catherine Countiss on July 1.
She has worked at the Election office since July of 1988. Burch says she plans to have a people friendly office and work collaboratively with other County and State Offices.
“I look forward to serving the residents of St Mary’s County,” said Brenda Burch.

As a reminder, the next election will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 for the Presidential Primary Election. The deadline dates are: Monday, Nov. 19, 9 p.m. is the deadline for changing a party affiliation and the deadline for registering to vote for the 2008 presidential primary election is Tuesday, Jan. 22.
