Charles County, MD – Around noon on Jan. 12 fire departments responded to a house fire on Bryans Road.
The fire was discovered by a resident of the home. Bryans Road, Potomac Heights, Indian Head, Accokeek and Marbury Volunteer Fire Departments and NDW Indian Head Fire Departments responded.
The fire was controlled in less than 10 minutes. The amount of total damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $80,000. The fire was caused by fireplace ashes being discarded in a container with combustible materials
The family has been moved from the home and is being helped by the American Red Cross.
