At 6:15 a.m. April 14, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Hawthorne Country Club, located at 8760 Hawthorne Road in La Plata, for the report of a burglary.
Investigation revealed suspects used a metal object, possibly a screwdriver, to force entry into a lower-level double-entry door. Once inside, the suspects forced open doors to the Pro Shop, the business office and Pamela’s Restaurant and stole money from those locations.
The suspects also severed phone lines and stole a DVR security system. The burglary was discovered by an employee.
