At 1:10 p.m. on March 26, Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to an alarm at a residence in the 6100 block of Tapir Place in Waldorf.
Upon arrival, officers discovered suspects had forced entry into the residence by breaking a front window. The suspects stole property from the residence and fled to a neighboring house, where they stole two lawn chairs from the front porch.
Officers found the lawn chairs and the other stolen property at a small campfire close to the burglary scene. Witnesses reported seeing two men walking to the campfire with the lawn chairs during the time of the burglary.
Officers located the men nearby on bicycles. They stopped the men and identified them as Eric Eugene Hennager, 35, of Oxon Hill and William Marvin Altman, 23, of Waldorf. An investigation revealed the bicycles the men were riding had been stolen from a residence in the 6000 block of Red Wolf Place.
The men were charged with first- and fourth-degree burglary, theft of property valued at more than $500 and destruction of property valued at less than $500.
