Calvert County, MD —ย Calvert County leaders want your opinion on the future of transportation.
The Calvert County Department of Planning & Zoning is holding a public workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 6:30-8 p.m. to update citizens on the Calvert County Transportation Plan and get their opinions on the plan.
The workshop will be held at College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus, John E. Harms Academic Services Building (Building A), Room 119, located at 115 J. W. Williams Road in Prince Frederick.
Consultant firm Sabra & Associates will present its analysis of the issues facing the area, go over various build-out scenarios, and look at roadway alternatives to manage additional traffic and outline the current recommended transportation plan.
Among the suggestions in the plan are improved sidewalks and guardrails on county roads,ย
The consultant will use public feedback from this workshop to complete the second draft of the plan.
The full draft of the proposed Calvert County Transportation Plan is expected to be released on or about Aug. 19, 2019. The transportation plan is an update to the plan adopted in 1997 and will set a vision to integrate multimodal transportation planning with land use, historic preservation, open space and community facilities.
