With assistance from the Ocean City Police Department and the Maryland State Police, Delaware State Police detectives have identified the body that washed ashore on Monday, Aug. 20, as Derrick Anthony Graviosi, 31, of Amber Lane, Huntingtown.

The cause of death is drowning. The manner of death is undetermined.ย  Graviosi had been reported as a missing person to the Ocean City Police Department a few days prior to his body being recovered in Delaware.

Detectives from the Maryland State Police were able to match Graviosiโ€™s fingerprints to fingerprints on file.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the body may have been in the water for one or two days before being located.

There were no signs of exterior injury to the body.

Fenwick Island is north of Ocean City.
