
Jesse Burton-Franklin Alexander Indictment handed down
Lusby, MD โ A Calvert County man, who sent lewd messages to an individual he thought was a 13 year old girl this past summer, was indicted by a grand jury on Monday, Oct. 17 according to court documents filed in Prince Frederick. The District Court documents state that the teenage girl identified defendent Jesse Burton-Franklin Alexander, 24 of Lusby as the individual who sent the messages to via a social media web site, was in fact a male Maryland State Police (MSP) Trooper.
The two-count indictment charges Alexander with sexual solicitation of a minor, a felony; and attempted display of obscene material. In the undercover trooperโs statement of probable cause, Alexander is alleged to have sent the initial private message Sunday, Aug. 7 and then the two began corresponding. โI explained to Jesse Alexander that I was 13 years old,โ the trooper stated. โOn multiple occasions Jesse Alexander discussed sexual acts with me while I was posing as a 13 year old girl. Jesse Alexander acknowledged that he knew it was wrong to talk sexually with a 13 year old girl and made the statement โbecause I am 11 years older than you and youโre 13 our relationship is illegal, sweetie. I could get in big, big trouble if anyone found out you and me are together.โ
The trooper stated that Alexander requested โsexy picsโ be sent to him. He also made several lurid comments that are chronicled in the charging documents. After several attempts to set up a person-to-person meeting, the trooper, in the guise of a 13 year-old girl, agreed to meet Alexander at a fast-food restaurant in Solomons on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 6. Alexander was followed from his home to the rendezvous location, where he was arrested and positively identified.
โDuring the interview Jesse Alexander admitted to sending multiple nude photographs of himself to the 13 year old juvenile as well as sending many sexual in content messages to the 13 year old girl,โ the undercover trooper stated.
Court records stated Alexander was released from jail Saturday, Oct. 8 on $20,000 bond. A summons was issued the after the indictment was handed down and the defendant is due in circuit court Monday, Nov. 7 in front of Judge Mark Chandlee. If the case goes to trial the proceedings would occur in late March, according to online court information.
