Prince Frederick, MD – For the first time in its history Calvert County has hired a fulltime inspector to work for the Board of License Commissioners (Liquor Board). During the board’s Thursday, July 27 meeting Chairman Robert Arscott announced that Michael Stevens has been hired to conduct inspections of the county’s businesses—mostly stores, bars and restaurants—that hold liquor licenses.
Stevens has a law enforcement background, having worked for the Maryland State Police (MSP) for 24 years. His tenure with MSP included one year—1983—at the Prince Frederick Barrack. He also worked in the MSP’s Aviation Command flying airplanes.
Stevens attended the July 27 along with Sgt. Joe Hollinger, who has recently handled inspections as a liaison to the liquor board from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
