Throughout its 377 year history, only two men – Sheriff Robert Miedzinski and Sheriff Wayne L. Pettit – have served as the elected Sheriff of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office for three terms. Tim Cameron hopes to join the ranks of those distinguished gentlemen.
On January 9, 2014, Sheriff Tim Cameron formally declared his intention to seek a third term as your Sheriff of St. Mary’s County when he filed for candidacy at the Board of Elections in Leonardtown.
Cameron said, “Over the past seven years, we have worked hard to establish a culture of transparency, accountability, and service in the Sheriff’s Office. I’m pleased the many initiatives and programs we’ve instituted have aided our crime fighting efforts and help maintain our quality of life. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to work in partnership with the people of St. Mary’s County, and the dedicated members of the Sheriff`s Office. It is a privilege to serve.”
