Car Driver Flown from Wreck with Dump Truck

At 12:46 p.m. Aug. 4, rescue units from Hughesville and Benedict volunteer fire departments were alerted to a vehicle crash with injuries in the 15600 block of Prince Frederick Road.

Hughesville Firefighter Eddie McPherson reports Engine 23 and Ambulances 27 and 28 responded and arrived to find a two vehicle accident involving a dump truck and a passenger car.

Both occupants in the passenger car were injured. One was flown from the scene by Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 2 and the other was transported by ground.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
