The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal reported a late night motor vehicle fire in Waldorf July 10 was deliberately set. According to a report filed by Dfm. Dexter Hodges, the fire caused $2,500 in damage to a 1999 Buick Regal. The blaze occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Mall Circle, Waldorf in a movie theater parking lot. No injuries were reported.

โ€œThe fire was determined to be incendiary due to an unknown suspect setting fire to the interior of the vehicle as it was parked in the movie theater parking lot,โ€ Hodges stated.

The fire was discovered by a citizen. Five volunteers from Waldorf were dispatched to the one-alarm blaze and brought the flames under control in five minutes.

No suspect has been arrested. Anyone with information on the blaze is asked to call the Maryland Fire Marshalโ€™s Southern Region office at 443-550=6820.
