At 3:52 p.m. on September 9, Officer D. Major conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and the driver provided a false name. He was issued several citations and released and the vehicle was towed.
Officers subsequently learned the driverโs real identity, Patrick Lionel Adams, 36, of Waldorf, and attempted to arrest him in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn located at 45 St. Patrickโs Drive in Waldorf. Adams resisted and attempted to flee. A struggle ensued and he was subsequently arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving without a license, displaying registration issued to another, unauthorized display and use of registration plate, driving an unregistered vehicle on the roadway and driver providing a false name.
Adams was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner. Officer D. Major investigated.
