Around 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 2, firefighters from Avenue, Bay District and Patuxent Naval Station and rescue crews from Lexington Park responded to fire in the 47200 block of Lincoln Ave in Lexington Park.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a mobile home and a camping trailer were fully involved with heavy fire and smoke showing. Fifteen minutes after fighting the blaze, the fire Chief ordered all personnel to evacuate due to low water supply.

No injuries were reported. Two residents have been displaced and will be assisted by Red Cross.

Both the trailer and the mobile home are a total loss. The cause of the fire has been ruled as careless smoking.

The Fire Marshall’s Office continues to investigate.
