At 12: 40 p.m. Saturday, St. Maryโs Sheriffโs Cpl. Edward Evans responded to a reported domestic dispute with a possible parental abduction in Callaway.
The suspect vehicle was located exiting the parking lot in the area of Point Lookout Road and Piney Point Road. A vehicle stop was conducted and upon approaching the suspect vehicle he observed four adults (2 males/2 females) and one small child in a car seat.
All subjects inside the vehicle were uncooperative, yelling, and refused to cooperate. Cpl. Evans attempted to detain the back seat passenger, Timothy Bush, and was assaulted in the process.ย An intense struggle ensued between Bush and Corporal Evans, as the three other occupants of the vehicle exited the vehicle.
The three occupants hindered the investigation as they tried to free Suspect Bush from apprehension. As a result of the struggle, a Signal 13 (Officer Needs Immediate Assistance) was broadcasted.ย Other officers began to arrive and assist, removing the other suspects from the struggle, placing them under arrest.
Suspect Timothy Bush, 20 of no fixed address, was finally placed in custody. He was charged with Assault Second Degree, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest.
Suspect Darien Bush, 20 of Leonardtown, fled the scene as other officers started to arrive.
Officers pursued on foot and after another altercation, he was placed into custody. Darien Bush broke a Maryland State Troopers glasses during the altercation. Darien Bush also gave a false name and was later found to be wanted on an Open Arrest through Charles County. Additional charges of Hindering, Property Destruction and Resisting Arrest were added.
Suspect Lisa Cheryette Armstrong, 41 of Waldorf, was placed under arrest. She was charged with Hindering, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. A search revealed she had marijuana paraphernalia in her purse.
Shannon Nicole Stewart,18 of Lexington Park, was arrested and charged with Hindering, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
Police report the child was located and turned over to the mother at the scene, unharmed.
