ย At 3:51 p.m. Jan. 21. a silver 2002 Mercedes heading northbound on Route 4 in Lusby failed to stop at a red light at Rousby Hall Road, striking a green 2004 Toyota Tundra which then struck a light pole.

ย The Mercedes then came to a stop and the driver and 2 passengers fled on foot running towards the Lusby Commons shopping center.

ย Members of the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office made contact with one of the subjects, identified as Gabriel L. Holloway, 40 of Sunderland, in the shopping center.

ย At the time, Holloway told police he had not been driving the vehicle and did not know the name of the person who was.

ย Holloway was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.ย  He was released from the hospital shortly after treatment. The two others in the vehicle were not located.

ย The owner of the Mercedes phoned police later that day and advised that she had just received a call from Holloway telling her he had been involved in a motor vehicle crash with her car.ย  The owner stated that Holloway did not have permission to use her vehicle.

ย The two occupants of the Toyota Tundra, Gregory Johnson, 37 and Christopher Johnson, 14, both of Lusby, were taken to St. Maryโ€™s Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

ย Charges are pending against Holloway for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and hindering the accident investigation.
