The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, May 25 between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The sheriffโ€™s office is not disclosing the location of the checkpoint, but signs on the roadway will advise motorists as they approach it.

Officers will check all vehicles that pass through the checkpoint. Drivers who are found to be intoxicated will be arrested. However, under Maryland law, officers must have probable cause to compell a driver to lower his or her window.

Police expect that delays for motorists will be minimal.
