Non-profit organizations and other grant-seekers in Charles County looking for funding sources now have access to a valuable new collection of resources at the Charles County Public Library.
The Library has become a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center of New York and will provide grant-seekers with a variety of vital tools and training to help them become successful. Acquisition of the Cooperating Collection represents an important partnership of the Charles County Government, Charles County Public Library, and the College of Southern Maryland.
The Foundation Centerโs core collection includes The Foundation Directory Online, profiling more than 80,000 U.S. grant-makers, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, print directories, and proposal writing guides.
Training sessions on how to effectively use these resources and identify potential funders will be scheduled in the near future. Access to the online directory will be available at each of the County’s libraries: La Plata Branch, 2 Garrett Avenue, La Plata; PD Brown Memorial Branch, 50 Village Street, Waldorf; and the Potomac Branch, 3225 Ruth B. Swann Drive, Indian Head.
Print materials associated with the Collection will be housed at the PD Brown Memorial Branch.
